NVIDIA RTX 5080 Removed from U.S. Store | GPU Seller Impact 2026

Overview

NVIDIA has removed the RTX 5080 from its official U.S. online marketplace as of October 30, 2026, and the RTX 5090 was already delisted around October 15, 2026. The card is missing even from the GPU filter, and the fastest remaining U.S. store card is the RTX 5070 Ti. For cross-border sellers in consumer GPUs, the immediate signal is that official direct-sales supply of the RTX 5080 is effectively zero while third-party prices sit far above the $999 launch MSRP, with the lowest verified U.S. price reported at $1,979.99 on October 28. The UK store still lists 13 RTX 5080 and two RTX 5090 units per TechPowerUp, but stock is very limited, and the German store status was unclear in the reporting reviewed.

The news reports that Reddit users first spotted the change and VideoCardz covered it. Outlets counted 30 products across five U.S. GPU filters (RTX 5070 Ti, 5070, 5060 Ti, 5060, 5050). This differs from earlier shortages, when sold-out cards stayed listed and were marked unavailable. The official RTX 5080 product page still advertises a $999 starting price, yet its Buy button leads to a marketplace with no RTX 5080, a contradiction VideoCardz criticized. NVIDIA has not publicly explained the removals or commented on the RTX 5080. Jeff Fisher, NVIDIA's SVP of the PC business, said at the mid-October RTX Spark event in Taipei that the RTX 5090 is not discontinued but supply is tight.

The operational impact for sellers is mainly demand displacement and price distortion. Industry data shows that when a flagship SKU disappears from direct channels, buyers often migrate to the next tier, so the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 may see higher search and conversion interest on Amazon and Newegg-type marketplaces. The article attributes the price trend mainly to a memory shortage: AI demand is drawing DRAM capacity, pressuring GDDR7 graphics memory and DDR5 RAM, with German DDR5 prices reportedly nearly five times year-earlier levels. Sellers bundling PC components should expect cost pressure to persist.

Context matters. In fall 2025, Founders Edition models disappeared from several NVIDIA stores, including Germany's, and NVIDIA then said all Founders Editions would continue production. Unconfirmed rumors from leaker MEGAsizeGPU and Moores Law Is Dead suggest the RTX 5080 16 GB could end production around January 2027 with a 24 GB successor. Stock removal alone does not prove production has ended, so sellers should treat the end-of-life narrative as unverified.
